Current mouse dead. Need suggestions

I have been using a CM storm sentinel Advance for 6+ years and I think the sensor is dying. On random occasions, the mouse would stop tracking horizontally.  When I lift the mouse, the cursor instantly jumps to the edge of the screen.  Unplugging and plugging the mouse back in temporarily fixes the problem, but the problem does come back after awhile, so I decided to get a new mouse.

I was looking at the M45 since my budget is around 60 bucks, but ncix has the m65 on sale for $54.  I am currently debating between these two, but I'm open to suggestions.

Thanks

Go for the M65, a friend of mine has one that I use when I visit and I love it. It's an absolute dream to use. I'll be picking one up once I have my PC built (Specs in my signature)

I don't think it's worth making a thread for this, but how can I tell the difference?

Is optical the one with a red light and laser doesn't have a light? Thanks. :P

And to OP, I love the Logitech G502 Proteus Core. I tried it at a nearby store and it fit perfectly in my hand, the buttons were light enough to not strain your fingers, yet hard enough to not accidentally press them. The ergonomics were great, it feels like a solid and strong mouse. The metal mouse wheel is not a problem for me, even though I have dry fingers. The little blue light is just a little bonus to my blue rig.

Too bad the premium comes at a cost. I currently use a Roccat Kova+ which is nice too, just a little too small and the macro buttons suck.

What's your budget?

Opticals usually have lesser resolutions and don't have acceleration like their laser counterparts, which is better for precise gaming.

I was considering the M45 originally until I saw that the M65 is currently on sale, making it $5 cheaper than the m45.  I understand the m45 has optical sensor while the m65 is laser, but is the laser sensor that bad?  I never had any issues before with the Sentinel Advance and I've read that some people seem to hate that sensor.  Maybe I was just lucky?

If you don't know/care about it, then you probably don't notice it. I've used a plethora of mice during my time and I've always found something off with laser mice and I kept returning to optical. After doing some research about the differences it made more sense to me and I will stick to optical until something major happens with laser or some new tech comes out. My usual advice is to get optical unless the shape and/or feature(s) you need are not found on an optical mouse.
