Audio Software

I don't think thats possible without re-wiring them. Your speakers don't have a on board sound knob?

Looks like you need to save up for some new speakers then. Or headphones.

My knowledge of the subject is that the speakers themselves control all of the volume but software can control less than that. I hope they aren't expensive speakers.

Depends on the type of speakers, but most speakers have built in Amplifiers.

Ok, thanks for the help guys. Ill try the amp before I get new speakers.

What speakers are these? If they're not that high end, it'd really make more sense to get new speakers than to remedy the issue by putting a headphone amp in between.

You can also try loudness equalization (below). It can help make some things more tolerable, and it's free if you have it.

loudness eq doesn't make everything louder, it boosts low and high frequencies for when you are listening at low volumes.

Will work for electronic components and parts

The Windows implementation is not the same. Microsoft's loudness equalization DSP is not a loudness compensation EQ. It is a volume leveler / normalizer.
