Hey there guys so I these white spots on my arms, both arms, which CONSTANTLY appear and disappear. It has been there for approximately a year, and I never really thought much of it. But recently, it has been appearing increasing prominent. Could someone tell me what this is? I'm sorry if it looks weird, but I really am wondering what it is, and if anyone knows what it is before I visit a doctor

You might want to visit a dermatologist. These forums aren't exactly filled with Doctors. :P

It cant be, it appears and disappears.. Like when I feel there's lower blood flow it appears very obviously

probably vitamin deficiency, but best check with a local doctor to see if it's not a sign for something much horrifying...

Details separate people.

Yeah, just see a dermatologist.

Alright, so a dermatologist as opposed to doctor?

Yeah but I wonder why, as I take vitamins daily

None of us are qualified to give any views on medical.....get to a doctor, a medical doctor then go to a dermatologist if you are that worried.

White spots on "white" skin and you worry....if the white spots appeared on black skin, well then it's defcon 5. :D

Wouldn't it be better to go to a doctor and get checked rather than ask on a forum where we don't have the skills to tell you. I have friends who are doctors and even they say if in doubt go and see your doctor, cause asking online is going to lead you to think you have cancer.

Get to a qualified medical doctor and then ask for a referral for a dermatologist.

Thanks that's what my homestay uncle told me to do too :)

Judging from the images, you may have scabies.  But do not be alarmed, there is nothing at all disgusting about it.

photolibrary_rf_photo_of_scabies_mite.jpsarcoptes_scabiei.jpg And yes, those are EGGS on the right

Fear not, all that will happen with these guests, is that they will continuously use your skin/flesh as food and nesting places for their eggs, until the creases in your skin turn red from the stripped away skin.  There will be itching and you are highly contagious, so go to a friends house and wrestle them.

In the event that my diagnosis is ridiculous and wrong and only mentioned to disgust you all, it might be tinea versicolor.

I am impelled not to squeak like a grateful and frightened mouse, but to roar...

After some research, I was wondering whether it was non-segmental vitiligo. But do you think its tinea versicolor?

I have no idea, I just threw those 2 out there because I've had both in the past (and scabies was awful, the regular doctor had no idea what it was and we had to go to a dermatologist.  I infected a couple of my cousins with it as well).  A visit to a doctor confirmed it.  Although the latter one I diagnosed myself before I went to the doctor as I was older and had the internet.  Your discoloration does not look strong enough to be tinea versicolor compared to the other images on the net, it may be nothing.  If worried about it just ask a dermatologist.

Go see a dermatologist, everyone else here is just taking shots in the dark. There's a reason there is a whole medical speciality dedicated to just skin. Just because someone had something similar, and they think that doing X worked for them doesn't mean it will work for whatever your problem happens to be.

Yeah I wonder too, as the spots are just there, I don't feel it at all, no itch, no pain. Weird.

I think you should go out more, get some sun light and do some exercise. I have had it happen before, so you're not the only one.

I'm thinking of this, as I haven't exercised for a couple of months!

It's lupus.

Nightmare for me

I don't exercise, at all. So I doubt that's the problem.

As many others have said, go see a qualified doctor, then go to a dermatologist.

Nightmare for me

I was kidding man.

It's probably nothing. Sometimes my hands also get white and pink spots, and many people I know have it too. It has to do with the blood flow, etc.

But go to a doctor.
