put it back on the box of the PC case. You can add bubble wrap around the case. If the GPUs are heavy you can separate it from the rig 1st and put it back to its box(ground yourself 1st) Do note that it may generate static so it's recommended to discharge it after transport :D

Need more info, are you gonna stay there a long time? how big is the case? It does have a dedicated GPU right? Not watercooled?

In any case, if its not a looong distance(just putting it in a car and traveling), you should just get the GPU out of the box, as its the most delicate part, it may break. Wrap it in anti static material and in bubble wrap.

then place the case in the trunk, securing it with elastics (dont know the english name sry) https://www.google.es/search?q=elastic+car+cord&espv=2&biw=1600&bih=1075&tbm=isch&imgil=1s8SnJxA3MmF2M%253A%253BF9oDxNJWzz8IdM%253Bhttp%25253A%25252F%25252Fwww.globalsources.com%25252Fgsol%25252FI%25252FBicycle-frame%25252Fp%25252Fsm%25252F1044960184.htm&source=iu&pf=m&fir=1s8SnJxA3MmF2M%253A%252CF9oDxNJWzz8IdM%252C_&usg=__rNvGtGaNvt4uLhaHIbKHiKmGK1k%3D&ved=0CEkQyjc&ei=u4cSVNzhGZOUao--gbAK

make sure all of the Hard drives are well screwed in, etc, no loose fans.

Planning on trying StarCitizen (Highly recommended)? STAR-NR5P-CJFR is my referal link

I wouldn't worry to much then. At best pull the gpu out and put it back in when you arrive, I have gone farther than that many times with no issues with everything in place.

pull of the GPU and CPU cooler if you are using AIR cooler.

if you still worry , stuff your pc with newspapers , they will secure the parts in place.

I personally have gone for 2-3 hour drives with my pc in the back seat of my car with no problems and I have a Gtx 780 DCu2. So unless your rocking a huge gpu i wouldn't worry about it.

My Rig: 4770k, MSI z87 g45 gaming mobo, 16 GB of corsair vengeance pro 2133mhz, Gtx 780 direct cu ii, H100i, Ax 850, samsung 840 pro 250gb and a few random HD's

As long as you're driving, I don't really see what the problem is.

Lay the case down with the mobo facing up if you can, otherwise the passenger footwell is a good place to put it if you don't want it moving around.

If you're paranoid about scratching anything, wrap it up in a blanket but avoid anything that will generate static.

I recently drove 4 gaming PCs and luggage around 725 km for an interstate convention, there's really nothing to worry about.

I've always just set it in the back seat and buckled it in. No need to have it loose flying around the cabin in the event of a bad wreck. As others have said you can definitely take the gpu out if needed and then just put it in the original box with styrofoam and buble wrap. Though at just 2km I don't think I would even worry about it.

Drive safely, take turns slowly, go easy on the brake/gas, and ease over speed bumps.  And use the seatbelt.  If you're really paranoid (and/or you have a MASSIVE GPU e.g. MSI 780Ti Lightning), take out your GPU and put it in its box for the journey.  You can also consider doing the same for your CPU cooler if you're got something like a Noctua D14/15 and you're on really bumpy roads.  But it's lighter than a GPU, and mounted more securely, so I've never taken it out myself.

And make sure ALL your parts are secure. None of those Laing D5s just sitting their in the bottom w/o being screwed in or SSDs just sitting there.

But for a 2km trip, using a seatbelt and driving slow will be more than enough.

Put it in the boot on its side, it's what I always do when I carry it around all the time.

Yeah I just put it in the boot, unless you have a crash nothing's gonna happen.
