I need help chossing the right GPU for my system.

Go to solution Solved by Igor Perrotta,

it gave me the same to me too. ok so it is decided I'm going to put and extra stick of ram swap my father's power supply (Cheaper than buying one) and buy a r7 250 hopefully I would get about 30 at 720p normal to high setting in this thing!

Again just check the voltage in your psu do some searching about it. DONT TAKE RISKS IF THAT SHIT BLOW you will lose everything. i think it wont blow but its better be cautious . 720p gaming in low or medium depending on the game. If you want to play with me on steam ADD ME: Perrottzz  please click in the solved button to close this topic. cya

This is my first post so I'm going to start saying hello to all you reading this, ok now let's get into it.

My system is not the best in the world by any chance, as a matter of fact I think is pretty bad, unfortunately this is what I'm stuck with:

My PC.html

Now, I'm going to upgrade my ram to 4GB.

And this is the GPU I had in mind:

I try to learn as much as I could about this things for the last week or so but I want to be sure.

If you need more information let me know.

Thank you in advance.

Well, AMD nowadays tends to have better performing gpus in a lower range of budgets. Have that in mind.

Intel i7 7700K | MSI Z270 Gaming M3 | MSI GTX 1070 Gaming X| Corsair Vengeance LPX 2x8GB DDR4 3000Mhz Samsung EVO 850 250GB | WD Blue 1TB | Corsair CS650M | Thermalright Macho Rev. A | NZXT S340

CM Storm Quickfire TK [MX Blues] | Zowie FK1 |  Kingston HyperX Cloud

Personally, I think your build is underpowered, so I would stick to something low-tier as your GPU will rarely be your bottleneck, so the Radeon r7 240 seems like it would be okay for this build.

I'd say a good option is a r7 240 and upgrading some ram.

Personally, I think your build is underpowered, so I would stick to something low-tier as your GPU will rarely be your bottleneck, so the Radeon r7 240 seems like it would be okay for this build.

Thanks for the suggestion Vawqer. I know is and old machine I'm concern about the PSU thought I have couple of wires let over but I don't if it would work

Would it run some games with a extra stick of ram and the r7 240 I'm not even going to do 1080p but I'm hopping for 720p decent fps and medium to high setting. am I asking too much from this pc?

I would suggest the R7 250 which comes in at around 100$.

The 240 and 740 is too low-end, while the 250 is a big step from the 240.

I would also suggest upgrading your RAM to 4GB if possible. This can cost around 40$, or if you have enough RAM slots on your mobo, you could just add another 2GB of RAM for barely 25$.

A R7 250 its a good one and like everyone said a ram upgrade to 4gb.

I would suggest a 350w power supply a good on.(but i think its a litte too much)

I would spent the extra $60 bux for this video card, it needs less power than the 740 and is better. http://www.amazon.com/EVGA-Superclock-Dual-Link-Graphics-02G-P4-3753-KR/dp/B00IDG3IDO/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1410483183&sr=8-1&keywords=gtx750ti its a GTX750ti, its small and good for the price. But before you get any GPU, make sure you power-supply can handle it. GOOD LUCK!

GOOD LUCK!

I think it wont work as well. his processor is not that strong

PSU.png

I can see its a 230w power supply and its not a good one i would suggest a upgrade. you are going to be upgrading a gpu ram psu. why dont buy a new pc? if money is a problem google $500 gaming pc its cheap and will guarantee low to medium 1080p on games

Like I said at the beginning I'm stuck with this, So this PSU won't run a r7 240 or something or I would have to attach a  hamster wheel on the side for extra 12V power?

I dont know if this power supply really delivers the 230w i dont want your pc to explode. but for a 240 i think it will hold ok.  but a 250 no
