I know you cant overclock the i3

You can do a BCLK and get about 400-500MHz so the 4130 can get to 3.8-3.9GHz which is more than enough for gaming and kills the G3258 in productivity due to hyperthreading at that speed so IMO get the 4130 and the ASUS H81M-C or ASRock H81M-HDS which can OC with the G3258 but can also do a BCLK with a locked processor.

Mein Führer... I CAN WALK !!

get a core i5 that way you can upgrade to any high end GPU's you want when you realise that the mid-range cards sucks...

You do realize a i3 780 running at 70% will make a 760 hit 99% right?

that's why i suggested he buy an i5 instead...don,t you read bro ;)

Read what I said again and you'd get an understanding why the i5 is useless for a 200$ GPU.

read again and you will realise that all you say is non-sence getting the core i3 if he as the budget for an i5 is shooting himself in the foot...ask yourself one second what would you do in his shoes?!

Am I recommending a CPU? Just saying a i3 won't hold a midrange GPU back in modern games.

I would get the i5. The i3 might do pretty well in gaming, but multitasking will be much better on the i5.

if you are going for a 770, look into the r9 290, you might be able to find one for the same price

i agree, and if you go with such an high-end gpu you need at least a strong core i5 which brings us all to the original question again...
