So I have a 780ti with a reference cooler and I if the fan gets over 50% it starts making a whistling noise. If it gets to 100% it sounds like a jet taking off, and no its not supposed to sound like that. I've had it since February and it only started this noise yesterday. Any idea as to why?

Clean it out?

already did. Nothing stuck. No dust. It's a as clean as a whistle. See what I did there? Lol jk. But seriously. The only thing I can think of is that the fan is hitting something to make that noise but I don't know what. And considering it just happened today, I'm unsure. Thinking of rebuilding the cooler to see but I am unsure if it will help.

Well you can put it mostly together and see if it is rubbing up against something.

It is fairly simple to take off, but the fan and LED cables are a real pain in the arse. I've never heard the noise you are describing.

My reference 780 works fine, not whistling, maybe it's rubbing up against the shroud?
