LTT 3DMark Thread

I see he does alot of CPU stuff while I'm all about them Video cards.  ;)

Video cards are boring my friend ;)

Plus most of mine are either old, bench only (Gt610) and my 7950.

might do some 7950 scores... I'd like to get my hands on some VLIW4/5 stuff and some Fermi.

I am waiting to build a custom Tech Bench soon so I can do more CPU's, Hence while I've only been doing GPU's since the only that will limit me there is thermals.

Are you planning to to with water cooling, compression or liquid nitrogen?

Not sure yet I want to do a LN2 test bench soon, But I also love doing Air.

i know. that is why i find it very interesting. doing one is bad but doing a bit of both is very expensive :(

hehe. I've not put much on hwbot recently. No time.. 2 jobs + college :(

Although I hope to get some stuff done with my Phenom when it comes...

IF it comes!

i noticed you hadn't, but once you have your transport you might have a bit more time.

i agree with you about the air cooling. i really like it for some reason, but thats only because its cheapest and i feel like its harder to find the balance between heat, voltage and stability on air which presents an interesting challenge :P i think i'll go to water before i go sub zero. then skip dice and go straight to ln2.

one would hope so. I waste about 3 hours a day on bus transport.

if this phenom is good I may invest in a 990fx board though.

i feel for you. buses are awful things :( a nice 990fx would be good as there are a hell of a lot of cpu's to put in it!

My 770 overclocks that you have seen are at 1.3V with out doing the AB Volt mod, which is the same OC result I would get under water at the same voltage, its all about keeping the VRMs as cool as you possibly can to get the most out of the card when benching and overclocking

Precision X 15 and up has allowed me to do 1.3V even a 480 or 580 just the VRM as cool as you possibly can since my first overclocking run was far from great with my 770's and the 6950 due to the VRMs just basically cooking themselves.

Yeah I had one Horrible card and it was a 6450, even bumping it up 1mhz from stock would cause a driver crash.

I´m still thinking about an mineral oil cooled PC. With the right dimension of the tank and a good radiator, there should be plenty of OC potential. Or a liquid nitrogen but I´ve never done that before so this will probably the best way to start with cheap hardware, maybe some FX990 and FX8350 or so :) .

I updated my own FireStrike result, and that´s as far as I can push my whole system, I would need waterblocks for these 980s and a mod BIOS or a third card to see more ;) :

Okay, after having so much fun with OCing and benchmarking tonight I felt like giving my HTPC a chance in 3D Mark... the GTX750Ti isn´t the best overclocker but oh well it´s just an HTPC :) and med settings in 1080p are okay to play.

Haha I bet you´d bottleneck the heck out of the GPU lol :D .

Actually I think my i5 4430 could handle a better GPU without bottlenecking it too much... the GTX750Ti isn´t just powerful enough. But it´s very quiet and uses not much power. For a HTPC not a bad choice at all ;) .
