WinXP Software on Win8.1

My PC is running Windows 8.1 (X64) and until a few months ago I have been running one piece of WinXP software on it. On the day support for XP was killed all later versions of Windows received the usual wealth of upates that we are all used to receiving. I installed all the updates for my machine as soon as I could. Later I discovered that these updates had removed support for XP software. The software I was trying to run was a game, Test Drive Unlimited 1, which was built only for XP, never updated for Vista or 7. Although it is 9 years old TDU1 remains my favorite game, I miss it and all the mods I had on it very much.

 

My question is; is there any way off running the game on Win8.1? I understand that the support no longer exists but is there a way around this? Any Help/Advice would be much appreciated

Really? When I updated I got message Saying "not compatible with OS". Have you had any such issue?

Yes, I tried that and the Win7 compatibility mode etc

Nope I haven't seen that issue with TDU1 (though I have with other programs)

 

Have you installed the newest patch? (The one with Nissan Skyline)

Yeah and the Megapack, I also had an unofficial patch amoungst lots of mods. Maybe unofficial patch caused Problem
