Which 750w PSU?

Go to solution Solved by Faceman,

EVGA G2 850W can be had for $100-$110.  Much better than the RM, and comes with a 10 year warranty.

Hi Guys,

So my current PSU (a corsair CX750) has developed a rather annoying coil whine so I'm looking at getting a replacement. I need something that's 750w, great cable management, fully (or semi) modular and SILENT.

I've already looked at the corsair RM 750 (silent deign, flat ribbon cables, gold rated but a little too long) and the EVGA G2 (great silent design, fully modular but i don't like the bulky cables at the fact that the 6 pin connectors are red.)

Any advice would be great!

Cheers,

CAllum

The older NEX750G (first versions of the G1) had that red PEG cables. The EVGA G2 does not. It's all black cables. http://www.evga.com/Products/Product.aspx?pn=220-G2-0750-XR

Corsair AX760

You should be fine with a RM750, but the thing about RM power supplies is that they don't use really high quality capacitors. The AX760 is built on a Seasonic platform, and it's generally nicer, higher quality and more better.
