Do laptops benefit from dual-channel memory?

Hi

 

So I have this netbook with an Intel Atom N570, which has a RAM limit of 2GB. That netbook, fortunately, has upgradeable memory and currently it's running a single 2GB stick. So my question is: should I buy another 1GB SODIMM (I already have one) or not? I don't know how many channels laptops usually have.

Dual channel is really only important for content creation (not so much for gaming these days) and my guess is that you do not game/create on this laptop so you do not have to worry about this at all.

Things will be a little bit faster. Dual-channel does help when you're doing things on different programs.
