Compatibility question...

I've put a few of my pc parts into pcpartpicker.com and apparently my motherboard doesn't have usb 3.0 headers ?

Does that mean I won't be able to use the USB 3.0 port on the front of my case ?

Yeah, pretty much exactly what it means. To my knowledge, you can get something like this though and use them, albeit at usb2.

Yes and no. You won't be able to use them unless you get an adapter for them and then they'll be running at USB 2.0 speed. If you don't do that, you won't be able to use them at all, but I wouldn't worry to much about that, since USB 3.0 is no really that super great.

This f**king motherboard... if I want to be able to connect my USB 3.0 and will be using a FX6300. What's a better board for £50 or so ?

Yes you can use UBS2 devices in USB3 ports, or USB3 devices in USB2 ports,

 

BUT

you will only get the speed boost of USB3 if you use BOTH USB3 devices and ports.

Usually the USB 3.0 headers of your case have a split 2.0 connection.

I wonder whether it's worth getting a new board, I've only heard bad things about the Biostar TA970 but I couldn't pass it up at £30
