The best MIC

Go to solution Solved by dylan43270,

so a Neewer lapel mic is better then the mic on the Corsair 1500 V2?

I have not personally tried that headset, but I can almost guarantee you that it is. I try not to be biased, but I have experienced first hand that headphones + mic is more cost effective than a gaming headset. I have the HyperX Cloud gaming headset (hands down the best gaming headset for under $100) and my Neewer lapel mic is a better quality mic as it sounds more natural and does not have a tin-like tone, plus I got 5 of them for $5 so I don't care if I break or lose one. If I was recording for YouTube quality sound I would go that route over a headset mic.

Am gunna open a youtube channel soon and as i beginner i need only a headset with a good mic.

so i have a budget of 75$ and am confused between alot of headsets

Which should i get ?

Corsair 1500 V2 (Heard a mic test sounds amazing)

Asus Orion Pro (Quite nice but not great)

Logitech G430 (was gunna get it untill i saw the corsair)

Turtle beach PX22 (Random)

Can't really afford a snowball :(

Try looking for it on sale or save a bit more. It's really worth it to have a decent mic, even if you are a beginner Youtuber.

PS: The Blue Snowflake is also pretty great (I have one :)) so get that if you can't afford the Snowball.

You have $75 and you can't afford a $50 mic? How does that work?

Blue Snowball ($45 on Amazon) + Superlux HD668b ($38 on Amazon) is a bit over the budget but would demolish those gaming toys. If you are serious about YouTube, invest in a proper mic.

I don't really wanna get a Snowball bec i may not like youtube am just giving it a try if it fits my liking am gunna buy a snowball if not then i didn't lose anything

so i want to just stick to getting a Headset now

Just get Zalman ZM-MIC1 clip-on mic then and slap them on some proper headphones like the Superlux 668b I mentioned earlier, or CHC Silverado, Pioneer SE-A1000 and Superlux HD681 Evo.

If you are just giving YouTube a try, why don't you just use what you have now? A built-in mic on a computer and crappy earbuds should work if you just want to try out YouTubing.

My Skullcandy earbuds just went out and whats a built-mic on a computer -_-? i have a PC not a laptop

I guess am gunna buy the Corsair 1500 V2 the mic tests all sound great and all the reviews say that its a good for the price kind of headset and it is 7.1 and better then the G430

Correct me if am wrong

Here is the cheapest method that I have that will work for you...

Get a pair of Panasonic HTF600 (very good bang for the buck headphone)

Get a Neewer Lapel Mic (>$5)

TADA... You may want to do some research on how to make your mic quality more accurate, but that will work well for a bang for the buck "headset" with decent mic quality as most gaming headsets mics are rubbish.

Internets Machine: Intel 4690k w/ Be Quiet! Pure Rock 4.7Ghz. MSI Krait z97. 16GB Crucial Ballistix Sport Ram. MSI GTX 970 SLI 1520mhz. 500GB Samsung EVO 840  & 3TB WD Blue Drive. Rosewill 1000w Modular PSU. Corsair Air 540

My Beats Yo: Desktop:SMSL SA-160 Amp, KEF Q100 w/ Dayton 100w Sub Theater: Micca MB42X-C x3, MB42X x2, COVO-S x2 w/Dayton 120w Sub Headphones:  HIFiMan HE-400i, PSB M4U2, Philips Fidelio X2, Modded Fostex T50RP, ATH-M50, NVX XPT100, Phillips SHP9500, Pioneer SE-A1000, Hyper X Cloud 1&2, CHC Silverado, Superlux 668B

I haven't heard the neewer lapel mic, but I would think the 1500's have a better mic. If you get the Lapel mic, you might as well get a pair of headphones with them instead of a headset.

Just make sure you sound doesn't suck... If I watch a Youtube video and it has bad audio quality, I'm basically out of there. There are many channels doing all sorts of content, why settle for one that annoys me every time the person speaks?

Wow, That's quite impressive. I would assume the downsides of the Lapel would be the fact that it's an Omnidirectional I presume?

I really need to buy a Zalman mic and do a comparison test between the two. I would think it pics up less background noise than the Zalman since it actually has a pop filter on it, but with some tweaking on Adobe Audition it sounds pretty astounding especially for the price.

Pop filters do not reduce background noise. Also, foam windscreens are not pop filters.
