But I don't think it works on modern computers now. Too slow for the computer.

Haha it confused me for a second

Thought no one would catch it cause I noticed it pretty quickly. Wasn't fast enough apparently.

ugh so I have to relearn how to touch type? That really sucks

Do you even type bro?

Now, seriously, how much do you have to type in a daily basis?

Do you only type on facebook every now and then or do you actually gotta type/program, every day, 8 hours a day?

I guess I type accurately and fast because I got used to it because of work/college, not because I wanted.

I also believe some people are more skilled than others, sure practice helps a lot but, even if one practices a lot, that person might find it hard anyway and won't be the best typist.

If you search online, you'll see that there's a "correct" way of typing where I think you must place your thumbs on F and J (on "regular" QWERTY keyboards) and that is will, supposedly, make you a better typist. For me, that's total BS as I use 70% of the time my index/pointer fingers, 10% my middle fingers and 20% the rest of them fingers.

I think it really depends on the person and their needs. If all typing I had to do was informal, I'm sure I'd type so badly...

Don't worry about it much. If you really want to improve, start typing all day long. Is it a good way to spend your time? Hell no.

I have been using a mechanical keyboard for about 9 months now and I don't know if my typing accuracy has improved, but I can say that my typing experience is much more enjoyable.

I wouldn't really call laptop keyboards compact from a surface area perspective. However, they're a very different formfactor. What you could do it add thick o-rings to the keycaps and also install a DSA keyset that has a flat contour on the top of the keys instead of the usual curve in the rows. That may achieve a similar feel as what your'e used to.
