Best graphic to couple with a i5 3570k

PastelAbyss

Hey Guys I was wondering what would be your recommendation on the best graphics card to couple with a intel i5 3570K that will be eventually overclocked. My budget is 300 to 400 dollars and there will be no restriction on power consumption.

Thanks

The 3570K is a great gaming processor so you won't face any bottlenecking issues , that's why I'd recommend getting the most powerful card you can buy,

The HD 7970 is the fastest GPU that fits into your budget, get one with a good aftermarket cooler (Sapphire dualx, XFX DD, Gigabyte Windforce, MSI twinfrozr etc...) and overclock it to get the performance of a 7970 Ghz edition, which is the fastest available card on the market .

Also , the 7970 comes with AMDs never settle bundle , which offers three games for free and 20% off on a fourth one.

http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/gaming-graphics-card-review,3107.html toms is usually my go-to for gpu hierarchy stuff. U can actually get a 7970 for about 400$ and thats one of the fastest gpu's in the world. (the ares II is 2 of these on one PCB, making it the fastest graphics card in the world) Also, you dont need a GHz edition of the 7970 because generally you can already OC them decently, so you can save 40-50$

HOWEVER, next gen cards from both Nvidia and ATI are coming soon. If you wait, you can get the new gen of gpu's or probably get these ones way cheaper!

The 7950 is the best value, currently, so I would recommend that. The 7970 is better, but if you are at a 1080p resolution, just get the 7950.

If I brought a Sapphire 7950 from Amazon, would I get those free games too from the never settle bundle?

You have to make sure the it is clearly stated on the product information page.

I know newegg.com offers the bundle on all their AMD 7000 series cards.

NCIX and Tigerdirect offer the bundle on a number of cards as well.

Get either a 680 setup or 7970 setup depending on price, you could even crossfire/SLI them and your CPU still wont be a bottleneck

7970's a good call. great performance, and considering it's an i5 rig, at a great price

considering the next gen's coming, you could always grab a 7970 now, and pick up an extra one on the cheap when the 8000 / 700 series comes out, and run them in crossfire!

You could also get a 660Ti or a GTX670. And I think you might want to wait until the 8970 or something around those lines come out since it is right around the corner

OP if you like physX then you will want to go Nvidia. Yeah there are fixes for some games for AMD cards to get some sort of physX but it is not equal to what Nvidia offers. Check out comparison videos for Borderlands 2. I also will inform you that the main driving force to putting out fixes that would enable physX with AMD cards is no longer doing it. At least the last time I checked he wasn't doing it and he said he even considering going Nvidia for himself in regards to getting a new video card. With no guarantee for fixes in the future Nvidia is the safe choice and better choice if you like physX and want to play games the way they were meant to be played and that is with all the eye candy on.

Too many ****ing games!  Back log 4 life! :S

Completely and utterly false. Physx is just directed to the CPU, and right now, an athlon dual core is more than enough for ANY game's physx.

That's what i've been doing with my 560 since october 2011 :) Gonna hold over til amd 8000's

@op - get a 7950, it'll perform like a 670 at stock, and when overclocked it sits right inside of 680 territory. Only cost 300$, same price as a 660ti.
