Constellation Andromeda vs Aquila

So, I've been wanting a Constellation for while now, but wanted to wait as soon as I heard there'd be different variants available. Well, now they are and I'm still unsure.

I have an Avenger for Mercenary / Bounty Hunting work and a Gladius as an escort fighter for larger ships or Carriers

I've wanted a Constellation for a money maker,(salvage/mining) and general purpose multi crew ship.

I really love the Aquila, but it's lack or armaments would be a concern, (lacking a P52 and hardpoints) but since I'd be travelling with friends as escorts maybe it wouldn't matter very much? I'd be more concerned by not being able to put all the salvaging and mining equipment on board, as I'm not sure what it has equipped already.

The Aquila is the exploration variant, isn't it? That one comes with a Rover exploration vehicle. In the commercial it came out of the cargo hold, which made me think about the available cargo space that's left...

I think the Andromeda is the best choice for general moneymaking.

New to Star Citizen? Look no further!

I was thinking the same. The Aquila seems extremely specialized.

Just found out that the cargo space is identical in both ships, and both ships come with the P52 merlin.

The aquila is better in a few ways but I'd still go with the andromeda because of the extra weapons and simply because I like the cockpit better

I've wanted a ship called the andromeda ever since watching Gene Rodenberry's "Andromeda" back when I was a kid so, yeah. Anyone else watch that series?

I went with the Aquila. I'm loving the cockpit and I like the idea of having the rover parked in there as well. I know it's going to be a little less versatile but it's also going to be a little less popular (I hope) so therefore a little more unique.

I went with the Aquila but that's because I want the explorer variant. Both come with the Merlin now and the Aquila has the rover which will cut down on cargo capacity. Also the top turret is a sensor array not weapon turret. Think hard about what you want a ship for and also remember that you can buy all ships with in game money (UEC) when the game is released.

Have you considered the Taurus as a money-making ship? It doesn't have the frills of the others, or the defenses. But it has 75% more cargo space for more, "ehem", salvage ;-) or mined ore etc. It has as many hard-points as the Aquila, though snub-nosed fighters sold separately. If the lack of flair is a down point, remember that you won't see the ship while flying, or while hiring NPC's to fly your ship while your not there. Plus its significantly cheaper, you could actually get a Hornet and change for the difference between the Taurus and Aquila.
mind you, the Aquila's cockpit looks much cooler!
