I am having trouble trying to overclock my CPU again.. The CPU Ratio does not want to budge at all. I tried to do a little bit of memory overclocking with no success this morning, but it did not want to cooperate. I gave it up afterwords and reset the BIOS. Upon doing this, I came upon this problem. I turned off the unnecessary features like Turbo, Speedstep, etc and still no success. I flashed the BIOS and still no go. Could I have done something to cause this to happen? My Specs are as follows...

Intel Core i5 3570k

Asus P8P67 Motherboard

G.Skill Jipjaws series Memory at 12GB.

Corsair CXM 600 Watt PSU.

Will include more as needed.

By "cpu ratio" do you not mean the multiplier? Also, upping your ram's frequency won't affect the cpu's frequency.

Only way to increase your CPU's speed is by increasing the FSB (Front Side Bus) or upping the Multiplier.

It is in fact the CPU multiplier that I am trying to change.

2 possible scenarios -

1) you are doing it wrong, probably not saving the settings probably?

2) the board needs to be rma'd

Edit: used the might power of Google Skynet, have you tried updating to the latest BIOS? or are you reinstalling the default BIOS?

I do have the latest BIOS. Every time I try to change the multiplier I hit enter and it goes no where. I had it clocked at 4.5Ghz before trying to tinker around with the memory.

Pretty sure on LGA1155 you overclock the turbo. So disabling it probably gimps your OC.

Even if you switch off turbo boost you can still OC the CPU ratio. I have turbo turned off.

Explains it better, non turbo clock is what you overclock when you switch off turbo cos turbo is bad.

Weird how my UP7 will allow it then.
