I have few questions concerning a PC build and I would be really thankful, if you could help me with those. I'm thinking of having either the 4690k or AMD FX 9370, or even AMD FX 8350 (cause its hella cheap), and I'm wondering which of these would be the best? Also if you would to suggest the i5, could the 4cores become a problem when looking into the future, cause there is talk that games will start to use more then 4 cores ? And the another question is which of the 2 gpus would be better, with the best CPU out of those 3 ? The radeon r9 280 or the gtx 770 ? Also in conclusion, would the system (considering that the other parts would be decent and fitting for the pc) be able to play games like BF 4 , Crysis 3, GTA 5, and the games in the future on ULTRA settings, everything maxed out, with good FPS, for few years ?

I would go for the 4690k if you like amd go for the 8350

edit: 4690k + 280/x

Nvidia is to Dr Dre Beets as AMD is to KFC.

One makes you broke, the other you can get more of and have a midnight snack from the fridge when hungry again. Once you go Nvidia, you go broked, turn into an Elitist, or get the incorrect amount of VRAM.

I was only 9 years old. I loved Fifflaren so much, I had all the NiP merchandise and matches pirated. I prayed to Fifflaren every night before bed. Thanking him for the life I have been given. Fifflaren is love I say. Fifflaren is life. My dad hears and calls me a fuckhead. I knew he was just jelly of my passion for Fifflaren. I called him a Sw@yer. He hits me and sends me to go to sleep. I'm crying now, and my face hurts. I lay in bed and it's really cold. A warmth is moving towards me. I feel someone touching me. I feel someone touching me. It's Fifflaren. I am so happy. He whispers in my ear; "this is my pyjama". He grabs me with his powerful Swedish hands and puts me on my hands and knees. I'm ready. I spread my ass cheeks for Fifflaren. He penetrates my butt-hole. It hurts so much but I do it for Fifflaren. I can feel my butt tearing as my eyes start to water. I push against his force. I want to please Fifflaren. He roars a viking roar as he fills my butt with his love. My dad walks in. Fifflaren looks straight into his eyes and says; "He is a ninja now". Fifflaren is love, Fifflaren is life

4690K or FX 8320 is the recommendation for gaming I would go with either some games like Intel CPU's more though DayZ is an example of that.

The engine for DayZ is completely dildos though.

Yes really I have a friend of mine with the exact same setup and an FX 8350 he gets 20 FPS less... on maps with more players nothing wrong with his rig

He's doing something wrong then mate, benchmarks show the FX 8350 holding it's own against Intel, in BF4.

92 to 75 is still more than a 10 FPS jump

Dat price difference tho. ~£110 cheaper

Still there are games that favor the intel architecture not all but some.

>implying i stated anything like that

I originally commented on the terribad engine DayZ uses. The game just uses a reworked Arma II engine, and is generally crud. Regardless of hardware it's bad. I've seen plenty of reports of both Intel & AMD users having piss poor performance for the game.

And yes, i am well aware there are a lot of games favoring Intel, simply because of their single threaded game engines struggling on AMD's hardware.

Thanks for the replies. I'm leaning towards the for i5 4690K and R9 280Xcombo, but I also would like to know, in your opinions, how loong will it last for me in terms of games starting to use more cores and the i5 not being able to cope with it , or shouldn't I be concerned with that ?

The FX 8350 is not all that bad, granted intels offerings do perform much better in single threaded applications the FX 8350 can still hold its own. I have mine and it works perfect in every game I play. I rarely dip below 60fps, excluding Skyrim with many mods and an ENB I get 35-40fps outdoors 60fps indoors. Battlefield 4 with mantle and I on very very rare occasions dip below 60fps.

My suggestion is to get whichever one you want to get, they are both very good CPU's, get whichever you're more comfortable with :)

Regarding games and favouring more cores, that is highly likely to happen and we will definitely see an improvement on both intel and amd cpu's :)
