780 until AMD's CrossfireX issues are solved. I'd probably still get a 780 though for PhysX on the GPU, and Adaptive Vsync(though people have created third party options for AMD called Dynamic Vsync.

No contest, HD 7990. I was looking at getting a GTX 780 until I saw the performance numbers and price tag. On average the GTX 780 pulled 5-15FPS more in games then a HD 7970. That in my opinion is not worth the $150 dollar msrp increase especially when I see HD 7970 skirt into the sub $400 range, not to mention AMD is including there 8 game bundle with the HD 7990. I kind of think this is an unfair comparison to be honest as the HD 7990 is a Dual gpu card and in games that can leverage the two gpu cores the HD 7990 will stomp a GTX 780 or even a Titan. If a game does not support multi gpu then you are only out 5-15fps since you still have one core being used. With most graphically intense games nowadays though they are fairly multi-gpu friendly, if a game does not support multi-gpu, it is typically an older game or is a game tht dosent require the power of a top end GPU in the first place. From a price/performance ratio the GTX 780 is completely pitiful in all regards against a HD 7970 and a HD 7990.

Well, I usually go for single GPU solutions because of the known advantages to that, you don't have to worry about SLI/CrossfireX support for BETA games for example, & you don't have to worry about Nvidia sponsored games not properly implementing CrossfireX or AMD Sponsored games not properly implementing SLI so on & so forth.
So I would personally go with a non reference 780 with a custom cooler & OC it.

Would be fun to own a 7990 but i would have to buy a more high end PSU for that, my corsair tx650 would not be good enough, so 780 for me, but i would be reluctant about it, and try to save up a bit for the PSU and The 7990
