What is a good price for a hackentosh? I'm looking at around $500. I live in the US so American dollars. I currently don't have any parts. I am wanting the build to be a fairly small build, mATX or itx if possible. I will be doing some light gaming video editing and Web browsing.

Any suggestions on a good build?

$500 is difficult for a Hackintosh build since only a select few GPUs and motherboards work with OSX.

Pretty much this.

Because only certain hardware works with OSX, if you don't have said hardware, no hackintosh.

Someone told Luke and Linus at CES 2017 to "Unban the legend known as Jerakl" and that's about all I've got going for me. (It didn't work)

Here you go, roughly $500 bucks for a Hackintosh. http://pcpartpicker.com/p/KYs3NG

Also, in case you wanted to know.

Ideal hackintosh parts are a Gigabyte motherboard, Intel processor, and an Nvidia GPU. Often enough, onboard Wifi cards don't work so I included a USB 2.0 network adapter that I know will work (I own one and it's pretty good).

My account is almost entirely dormant. Hope you all are having a grand time. Many years of fun were had here.

How is it not compatible?

Ok I was mistaken sorry. On the majority of the forms and websites I have read, none say it is compatible the answer is alway undetermined if the Gtx 750ti will work. Many say it is not supported. I am very confused on if it is or not.

It's the new architecture with Nvidia GPU's (Maxwell). Some people have gotten it to work, others haven't. GTX 6** series are always a good bet. Lemme get back to ya with a new build.

EDIT: How about this http://pcpartpicker.com/p/9pxBzy ?

Are AMD cards not compatible with OS X, as far as hackentosh's are concerned?

Specs: 4790k | Asus Z-97 Pro Wifi | MX100 512GB SSD | NZXT H440 Plastidipped Black | Dark Rock 3 CPU Cooler | MSI 290x Lightning | EVGA 850 G2 | 3x Noctua Industrial NF-F12's

Bought a powermac G5, expect a mod log sometime in 2015

Corsair is overrated, and Anime is ruined by the people who watch it

How would you compare the gtx6xx with the 7xx. Are they older or are they worse? Or both? What mobos are compatable

The 6** series are just one generation back. Whatever 2 years would draw back from it's performance is what you're gonna get. I'd stick with the 6 ** series as you KNOW that they will work with OSX. All mobos are compatible.

This build will ensure 100% hackintosh compatible, but it's 110$ more expensive, even will my GTX660 choice

Unless you can get used 660, i3, mobo, it's literally impossible for a 500$ hackintosh to work properly

My current rig for entertainment/gaming: i5 4570 3,2GHz; MSI B85M-E45; ZOTAC GTX760 AMP!; 8GB (2x4GB) by Kingston; Seagate Barracuda 1TB 7200rpm; Corsair 200R, Corsair VS650; Dell U2312HM, Samsung DVD R/W optical drive; CM Devastator; Corsair MM400 gaming pad
