How many languages do you know?

I know about 1.01 languages. English (obviously) and a tiny bit of Japanese.

I'm fluent in both American English & Texan. I can understand Coonass fairly well. Being Texan, I can understand Spanish better than most.

 

I know a bit of French (helps with the Coonass) and can decipher most romantic languages. I can also sorta understand German. I've never been able to fully devote myself to learning another language. I like the idea of language as a system, being an INTJ. The problem is the very essence of language is the ability of people to break the rules and evolve and customize it. I love that fact, but it makes it hard for me to waste my time learning a system that will be thrown out the window immediately. Although, I envy the polyglots

Fluently? Only English. BUT! I have taken some Spanish (unwantingly), 2 years of Japanese (in High-School), and one Semester of French @ the college I go to.    I am Canadian and I personally don't see a reason for me to know (much or any) Spanish, I want to move back to Canada it seems French would be more useful up there -- as it's the second official language.

 

Yet I DO know how to greet in:

• English - Hello
• German - Hallo, Guttentag
• French - Bonjour
• Italian - Ciao   (someone that knows Italian, correct but isn't Ciao 'goodbye'?)
• Chinese - Nihao (I am sorry if I mispelled that)
• Russian - privet
• Japanese - Oyahou
• Arabic - Salaam (spelling?)
• Hebrew - Shaolm (again Spelling?)

 

I do like languages.

Domou, I thought there might be a u after that,  I think I'm more used to seeing it in hiragana than Romaji and my last Japanese class was in 2009 (spring).
