Sata express

Go to solution Solved by Enderman,

But the ssd today is okay with the slots that are not sata express?

Yes

A regular SSD is already a huge improvement over HDD. You will be more than happy with a normal SSD. Also sata express will be very expensive, as any new technology always is at the start.

Regular SATA is enough for an SSD. You probably won't notice the upgrade to an M.2 SSD. And SATA SSD's are the best for the price.

get whichever one you like best

if you plan on buying a $500 sata express SSD in the future then maybe get the motherboard that has sata express just so that you have the option.

Ty. So i should just go with msi gaming 5 or you think the gigabyte gaming 5 or z97 a is better?

I think they are both good motherboards :) Get the ones that has the features you want, and looks nice with your colour scheme.

I would just go with gigabyte then, since both motherboards are almost exactly the same. I think their UEFI and software is a little more fancy than MSI. Features are almost exactly the same, so you cant go wrong with either choice :D

thank you again!. leaning towards gigabyte more and more. btw. the sata express is the only thing missing in the msi z97 gaming 5 right? if you were me. which one would you go for?

The MSI has an optional M sata to sata express adapter that you can get if you want sata express in the future

xD except the sata express. what awesome should i get from going gigabyte? and what did i lose? :D

you lose nothing, and get some fancy LED lighting and sata express directly on the motherboard, no need for any adapters.
