Hello,

I'm a first time builder and I was wondering if the Amd a8 serie is good enough. I have the r9 270 video card. I'll be using my computer for FULL HD gaming and video editing. I want this computer to last at least 5 years without any upgrades. Is the a8 serie is a good cpu for these specs? Is the a8 serie powerful enough to be very snappy without any lag or any problemes? Should I go with an FX serie? I have a budget of 650$ with windows 8.1. Should I pay more or this cpu will do the job?

Thank you very much!

you don't really need an A8 because you said you're getting a graphics card.

Don't get an APU if you already have a graphics card. Buy an 8320 or 8350 instead.

Also, 5 years is a very long time. You will probably have to upgrade your GPU soon unless you enjoy playing games at medium settings.

Why would you buy an APU? Just get a FX-6300 or Athlon x4 750k and a good AM3+ motherboard.

Windows 8.1 is worth getting over windows 7.

Personally, I disagree but it's up to the person that's building the PC. They're the same price so it doesn't matter.
