Hey guys, my iPhone 4S's screen was recently completely shattered and does not display properly. It is not the case where the glass is shattered and the screen still works and is functional, but the screen is dark with random discoloration. The phone itself is still functional because I can use Siri by holding down the home button. I've been reading about a DIY replacement and things such as a "digitizer" and the "LCD display" were being thrown around causing some confusion. Basically, I am wondering if my screen is reparable and if anyone could recommend a solid DIY kit for me to use.

I've attached a picture of what the phone looks like when the screen is powered on to give you guys an idea of what situation I am in.

Thanks a ton,

Nick

You could try and fix it yourself, but it looks pretty bad. Look on ifixit.com for replacement parts. Good luck!

For the iphone 4s i believe the digitiser and the screen are one piece. The phone is built from the screen up so if you did want to do it yourself you literally have to empty the entire phone of its components

It's going to cost more to repair it than buy a new phone. Also, it would be extremely difficult to repair something that damaged.

It's actually not a hard task at all, the only issue I see is that the suction cup may have a hard time ataching to your screen
