Which screen to get?

Go to solution Solved by WereCat,

Thank you for your comment, and sure I'll list you my current setup:

Cpu: Intel® Core i5-3570K Processor
Motherboard: MSI Z77A-G41, Socket-1155
Memory: Kingston DDR3 HyperX 1600MHz 8GB
Graphicscard: MSI GeForce GTX 660Ti 2GB PhysX CUDA

Nice. You can definitely run CS:GO on 100FPS+ stable with this PC -> 144MHz monitor makes sense. As I said before that BenQ one got better screen than AOC one. Not a much better screen but price difference is so small that you may go for it.

Regarding IPS monitors. They are for gaming too but usualy if you want more than 60Hz panel it will be a lot more expensive than you can get with TN. Colors are definitely better and viewing angles too. But it really is about your preferences and it looks like you would rather have more smoother gameplay so definitely pick TN with more than 60Hz if you are on tight budget.

Hello fellow friends,

Since my screen started to crash a lot, I decided to get a new one and since my budget exactly fits 2 screens that both got 144hz and 1ms response time, then I'd like to know which one is better and which screen that offers more, I currently only play CS:GO and Dota2.

The 2 screen I've bee looking on and fits my budget:

My friend told me that this website would be a great place to ask, and this is also my first time on it, so if I have been placing it on a wrong section, then I'm sorry.

AOC is the better choice in my opinion. Have you considered and IPS monitor though? The color reproduction and viewing angles are well worth the small sacrifice in response time.

I got no experience in screens, my friends told me that if I was going to buy a new screen, then it had to be a 144hz and 1ms response time D:

Ok, so i doubt you are going to notice the difference between 1ms and 3ms response time. A when get to 5-6ms then you will may notice a tiny difference when in side by side comparison but it wont hinder you. Getting a screen with 144hz is only useful if your computer can run games well above 60fps , otherwise theres not a huge point, just go with a 60hz monitor. An IPS panel will make the colors look much, much better than a TN panel and your viewing angles will be a lot better (great if you are planning on getting multiple monitors in the future). If you dont want to go IPS then get one of those otherwise there are many people here who would help recommending a good IPS monitor.

I would say that get BenQ one because it has better screen and the price difference is very small. And as @SnowGhost1212 said, if you dont have computer capable of runing those games on 120FPS-144FPS then it is pointless getting such monitor. But since CS:GO and Dota 2 are not very demanding games I assume that you will be capable of runing them on those FPS.

If you could post what PC you got so that we can give you best advice that would be appreciated.

Slap him.

Only professional gamers *need* 144Hz monitors with a 1ms rating. An IPS would be much better as it supplies wider viewing angles with almost no colour shift, and the colour reproduction is much better.

I suggest you get a 1080p 60Hz 2-6ms display that is an IPS. A TN 144Hz with 1ms is not required for casual gamers.

And why would an IPS panel would be great for gaming? IPS panels are great for everything except gaming.

You will get better colours but if you are gaming you wont care about that little +1% colours you get with IPS.

Also csgo is an FPS game so 120 or 144hz is much better then 60.
