Hi, I'm going to start college very soon and need a laptop, I bought a lenovo yoga 2 11inch with an i3 about a week ago and realized it's slow as balls and basically unusable for anything but notes. So I was wondering what you guys could recommend for a good small laptop for around 600$ that is decently fast and can handle light gaming (the yoga struggled with the binding of isaac if there were more than 4 enemys on screen). Thanks in advance.

MacBook airs start at $899, but refurbs can be found for less, and on eBay for even less.

Small, light, the HD 5000 is strong enough, especially at a small laptop's resolution- my brother played Tomb Raider on Ultra at 23FPS, which is very respectable for integrated graphics (on med-high, it was well above 30).

The Lenovo Y40 is a bit of a stretch at $750 but it's worth the extra cost IMO

Did you do a fresh install of Windows on your Yoga? Usually that can make a massive difference with all the bloatware installed on new machines. I would go for anything with an i5 that has HD4400 or HD5000 graphics. Maybe upgrade to the Yoga 2 13 with an i5.

Case: Cubitek MiniCube CPU: i5-3570k @ 4.7GHz GPU: Asus GTX 670 DirectCUII MoBo: Asus P8Z77-i Deluxe/WD RAM: G.Skill Sniper 2133MHz

SSD: Sandisk Extreme 120GB HDD: WD Black 2TB AIO Water Cooler: Antec Kuhler 620 Fans: Corsair SP120 Thermal Paste: MX4

Headphones: Grado SR-80i Keyboard: Corsair K65 Mouse: Mionix Naos 8200 Monitor: Asus MX279H Phone: HTC One Tablet: Nexus 7 (2013)

It was brand new with a fresh install already on it I'm going to return it tomorrow to help pay for the new one.
