That MSI mobo does NOT have onboard wifi. It is infact false advertisement on amazon. Read the reviews.

I have the ASUS z97-pro wifi edition and I have to say my experience with it is horrible. Just pick yourself up a usb or pci(e) wifi adapter.

So like you have internet but if you dont have like an ethernet cable you can use your mobo wifi?

Yep. It's basically a small WiFi card on the motherboard similar to that in a laptop. It's the same as having a descrete PCIe card or a USB wireless dongle, just on the motherboard already.

onboard wifi generally raises the cost of the board exorbitantly. You're better off getting 2 more USB ports and a USB antenna. It will be cheaper. Case in point MSI Z97 Gaming 7 vs. Gaming 9 AC.

You're right, but I would get a PCIe wireless card, my USB2 wireless dongle is painfully slow (and the drivers aren't great, but that's an issue specific to this one).

Rosewill and Netis are both great. Make sure it's a high-gain antenna too. I will never waste a PCIe slot again.

So, what would the wifi do... i am not getting this

You wouldn't need ethernet cable from router to mobo. Thats what wireless means. But if you are online gamer, stick with cable. Its generally more stable, even if router is right next to your PC.
