780 SLI vs 780 TI SLI

Izomo

So I'm looking at getting two 780's for a new build. But struggling between just 780 or getting 780 ti's. The ti is about 200 dollars more for each one, so 400 dollars in total. So is it worth it to get ti's or sli 780's would be good enough?

For price/spec comparison: All prices in canadian.

If you don't really care about money, go for the 780TI's, otherwise 780.

note excess money =/= not caring about money

If you have money get the 780ti. Other wise the 780s with a slight OC would work great. :)

Ya... 400 dollars for how many few fps??

It's not really whether or not I have the money, it's whether or not burning 400 dollars would be more useful then getting 780 ti's

Personally I'd go with the 780's with an overclock

what are you playing on?

It's probably not worth it since I don't think there's a single title that two 780's couldn't handle at sub 4k

But 400 dollars worth? Could almost get a 3rd 780 for that.

Why not just get 2 290s in cross fire if money is something you worry about it'll about match 780 SLI  and be cheaper

Single 1440p benq 24" monitor, may eventually get 3 monitors for productivity. But gaming only on one 1440p monitor.

True, but AMD exclusives don't seem that awesome compared to NIVIDA. I'm not looking to spark an amd vs nivida debate though, i'll look into it.

Well, a good middle ground is two 290x's?

If you really want Nvidia, then I would still go for two 780's

Same sort of thing as single cards, if you got the extra cash get 780ti for extra performance. If you don't then stick with 780.

I meant as in software exclusive to amd vs nivida. like mantle vs physicx (sp?)

Ya i'm just wondering if the few fps upgrade would be worth the 400 - 500 dollars extra, i could just get 3 780 or 3 290x for that

Well you can add Nvidia cards to AMD machines simply for doing PhysX (which is le correct spelling) or your CPU can but it's SLOW SLOW SLOW SLOW sadly Nvidia is soon disabling the ability todo this... And AMDs doing their damndest to make FreeSync and Mantle things even for Nvidia... They allow Crossfire support on any board while Nvidia charges mobo manufacterers money to get sli certified and doesn't allow you to use SLI with out a certified board... Nvidia is a dick of a company they're doing their damndest so people over there can't use PhysX and Gsync cards in systems using AMD cards... If you want exclusives goto Nvidia; AMD is giving their stuff away it's just Nvidia isn't accepting most of it....
