RAM compatibility question

back in November when i built my pc i got this ram

which at the time was just under £50, now its nearly £80 and i need to upgrade as 8GB just isn't enough any more, due to chrome and me running game servers.

 

My question is, can I use any 2x4GB 1600mhz ram that i can get cheap or must i get the same as last time,

i tent to be careful when I comes to hardware compatibility

So long as it's the same speed, timings, and CAS, it works fine.

it can differ from what you have, though some of these "pro's" will tell you that it should be the same. for the best result make sure the CAS, speed and timings are the same though.

yea if the ram was not stupidly expensive i would get the same one again.

I think you would probably be fine I have a laptop and mixed ram both have different speeds and I think the ram down clock to lowest speed of on of the sticks.
