What is your budget for the CPU and GPU?

I've built 3 PC's, but none for myself... In fact, I'm using an iMac that my dad bought for me as my desktop. Awkward...

Please don't say "SSD drive." By doing so, you are literally saying "Solid State Drive Drive" and causing my brain cells to commit suicide. The same applies to HDD (Hard Disk Drive) and PCIe (Peripheral Component Interconnect Express).

the K series processor is def worth the extra money

even if you dont intend to OC it now

it wont be outdated so quickly like the locked CPUs

when games get more demanding and you want to OC

you got a unlocked CPU in the first place so you just need to crank up the speed

No matter what, get an R9 280, and whatever you have left, buy the best CPU possible.  GPU is more important that CPU for almost all games.  And the games that are dependent upon CPU, you have the strong cores of Intel so you are fine.

he say he not really into gaming with any recent games

lineage,cs global offensive, assassins creed 3

other than Crysis 3 which is the demanding game

most are fine with a 270X

The 280 will last a lot longer than a 270X.  He can get the lowest level i5 and pair it with a R9 280 to get the most out of his system.  GPU > CPU

I saw that, he can always upgrade later.  Heck, buy a G3258 + Hyper 212 EVO and it will be a much better option.  In fact, do that @Diffakoc

Tthe GPU is a more important component than the CPU, all of those games except Crysis3 will run very well on the G3258.  You can always buy an i5 later.  The R9 280 is a much better GPU for 1080p than the 270X.
