Crossfire with R9 280X

After buying an R9 280X, I have read that Xfire allows for multi-gpu setups without having the same card, so is it possible or feasible that I crossfire my R9 280X with a R7 260X?

No you can only crossfire with R9 280 or R9 280X (or before rebranding they were called HD7950 and HD7970)...if you crossfire with R9 280 both cards will run at R9 280 specs, so i would highly suggest that you get another R9 280X instead...

no it wont work that way

 

it has to be from the same gpu family

 

so you can only crossfire with the R9 280, HD7970 or HD7950

Budget? Uses? Currency? Location? Operating System? Peripherals? Monitor? Use PCPartPicker wherever possible.

No you can only crossfire with R9 280 or R9 280X (or before rebranding they were called HD7950 and HD7970)...if you crossfire with R9 280 both cards will run at R9 280 specs, so i would highly suggest that you get another R9 280X instead...
