so apperently the eye doctors (forget there name) think my optic nerve is damaged, so they want me to get a MRI. So question, since its just my head part they are looking at, will they just put my head in the machine? and like leave the rest of my body out of the machine?

No whole body goes into the machine but MRIs are not bad for you

k cool, and i dont really care if its good for you or not, it was just worried about the whole claustrophobic-ness of it. do you know how long it takes? like 2 mins? or like 10 seconds or like 30 min?

Meh, does it really matter? Just think of it, you're going to have a 3D scan of yourself! And for extra $50 they can make a 3D model of you you can print (except for genitalia, there are laws in NA that forbid digital imaging of them).

Any unknown button should be pressed even number of times.

Depends how many images they take. Generally under an hour though.

When you get a head MRI they usually just put you in up to the top of your chest, then there's the noise from the stepper motors which are strangely calming after 10 min and you'll almost fall asleep.

Only your head and chest will be inside the machine, it can apparently be quite claustrophobic at first but you quickly get used to it. The white noise from the motors may well send you to sleep, too.

And no, it can't harm you at all, magnetism has to be ludicrously strong to actually cause any permanent damage. An MRI machine generates magnetism around 20x stronger than a sunspot and is still perfectly safe, so you'll be ok. :P
