Do you guys think GPU length will keep getting bigger and bigger, or will there be a diminishing return and the technology will find a way to eventually make them smaller and smaller?

I think they will stay around the same length that they currently are, if not getting smaller.

Smaller process nodes = lower power consumption

lower power consumption = less power phases need

So yes, I think GPUs will get smaller in the future. Imagine a GTX 780 on a board the size of a low-profile GTX 750 Ti.

It will be the same as they are now. (Meaning the behemoth ones)

I should say in my opinion..... not to confuse ppl thinking I'm stating fact, altho we've seen it the last 10 years or more happen time and time again.

They will just be refined as time goes on to use less power and pump out more instructions.

Size won't change much, but the output performance of the cards will increase greatly over time. Like most hardware.

Maximums - Asus Z97-K /w i5 4690 Bclk @106.9Mhz * x39 = 4.17Ghz, 8GB of 2600Mhz DDR3,.. Gigabyte GTX970 G1-Gaming @ 1550Mhz

I think they will get smaller. They're smaller than they have been in past years. Looking at the 750ti, Maxwell is quite a small chip that packs a solid punch, and the cards are tiny !!

Once the die process gets smaller and with nano technology on the horizon, it's really only vrms ram and mosfets that take up the most space on the pcb.
