Hey

I have to do work experience (no idea what the heck it's actually called in english) for school in week 46 this year

I have to find a place for it myself

I'm 13 and go to what if translated to american school system would be high school freshman year.

I don't really have any ideas but would prefer something to do with computers or economy

I would really like if someone could suggest something?

Well for my work experience a year+ ago I worked in a property surveyors office and all I did was filing, more filing and MORE filing. Pretty much does loads of boring officework, filing, photocopying and the only computer work I got to do was boring excel spreadsheets!

Is this the real life? Or is this just fantasy?

So, should i just try to do some IT stuff for a random company? I'm thinking about some online computer shop similar to NCIX (One that builds computers), could it be possible i could just assemble computers? That'd be sweet.

I assume you are talking about "Praktik". During the 8th and 9th grade I was 'working' with 2 different electronics companies in the area around Randers.

One of them was called "BEC" and the other "Telekæden". I spent most of my time soldering components on to circuit boards and of course making coffee for the regular staff :P

You can try contacting companies like Atea, Servicegruppen, Scriptor, Kobuz, El Giganten, BEC, Merlin or just anywhere, that might deal with "light it repair" or installation of software.

Of course i'm talking about praktik : P

I was also thinking like Komplett or Elgiganten.

I'm honestly not much of a software guy and more of a hardware one, so i don't think places like servicegruppen is for me.

Should i just apply for Komplett/Elgiganten/etc?

isnt there someone in the school called a career counselor ? , when i was at school i told them I wanted to do something with animals / the environment and helped out preping food for the native animals

I would suggest maybe seeing about working for the local Telco since there going to be big in both economy and IT

Its all about those volumetric clouds

Yeah go for it, but also don't rule out Servicegruppen, Atea, Infocare and those kinds of companies. They do have to deal with a lot of hardware repairs and aren't exclusively focused on software.

There is, but we're still supposed to find out what we want to work with ourselves. And the career counselor can hardly turn on a computer, so i don't think she'll find the best IT-related thing out there

I've checked out their websites, and most of them just seem like they print stuff and such and printers are not my thing : P

But if i can't get something at Komplett or Elgiganten etc i'll probably check them out : P

Hehe yeah;)

Have you considered looking for something in Malmö? it shouldn't be that hard to reach, if you live in Copenhagen (Komplett even has a warehouse there).

Komplett has a warehouse in Copenhagen too : P

Wouldn't train tickets be a little pricy? 10*60 kr (Which is the very least i could imagine) is already 600 kr, and i can't really afford that (If i could i would use it on pc parts xD)

You could also check out Micrsoft, IBM, KMD, KTS, Oracle, Xerox, Fujitsu and heck even the government. As a freelancer I have worked alot in the diffrent stat departments, and for the military. All of those places are either in or near Copenhagen and all have helpdesks that services the office machines.
