So, I have both a Razer blackwidow 2013 and a Logitech G710+, I installed the drivers for the G710+ and wanted to install ones for the Razer too so I could switch.

But something weird happened, Chrome blocked Razer Synapse saying it was malicious.

Now, this wasn't any old blocking.  This was one that Chrome was sure about, you could not allow it to download.  It only had a dismiss button, sometimes when Chrome finds a suspicious download it will allow you to download it.  This was something Chrome was sure about.  What do you think?  Is it safe to download this driver still?

Click the drop-down tab next to the dismiss button with the arrow.

Are you definitely downloading it from the correct site?  I've just downloaded it successfully without Chrome saying a thing.

It's just chrome being overprotective.

I'm using Comodo dragon (a chromium based browser) which is much more secure than Google Chrome and it's fine.

it will only block it once its downloaded.

No, if Chrome thinks its malicious, it will block the download entirely, not after the fact. I use Chrome too and downloaded it just fine after reading your post. I also use it every day for things like my Tartarus and there is nothing malicious about it. Make sure you don't have some other virus or malware that is interfering with Chrome and blocking other downloads.

I don't think so.  I've got no chrome extensions, I've got malwarebytes, hitman pro and an antivirus installed and all up to date.  I'm not sure.

Might be something to do with it. Try using a different browser to download it.

I tried an older version of Chrome and it blocked it too :/  but Firefox doesn't block it.   Could it be a setting I've enabled in Chrome that I've forgotten about?
