Ha yeah if it is legit I would have to say PC for desktop, because you can run linux or windows. For a laptop or whatever I would say whichever you feel looks better. As for the music and pictures for macs I have no idea, because I do not do those type of things. I do not see how it could be mind blowingly different between the two.

It this really what qualifies as a troll post now? People are so liberal with the term.

It's possible he just didn't think that a forum with pretty strong emphasis on computer enthusiasm would prefer the much more open systems of pc over mac.

It's the same normally for every forum; you get the hardcore PC fans fight the hardcore Apple fans in a never ending battle..

PC for desktop, more customization, more power, and it all costs less. Windows 8 for tablets, but for my aging father (older people in general in my opinion) I bought him an iPad because its easier to teach him how to use because its less complex and iOS is the best thing from apple since the iPod.

Agreed with that tablets/smartphones. My grandfather for some reason went android and he's constantly calling me because he locked himself out of his phone.

I hear that so much, but it just doesn't make sense to me. All of these OS's have a learning curve, but they are all so easy for me to learn. I guess since I like technology this stuff just comes easy to me, but I just can't wrap my head around how hard they can be to use.

We've grown up with computers though, if you spent most of your life without them, things are not so familiar, and suddenly having a phone that is so much more than just a phone, can be overwhelming for someone like that.

@windspeed36 MAC's used be good for multimedia work. but since they start using intel CPUs over the PowerPC CPU there is no big differences any more. and all the software that is available on mac for multimedia is now available on PC and to be honest PC's are much more powerful when compared to a mac . even if yo can spend a million dollars on a MAC there is no extreme edition mac or anything like that. so that is why the whole industry is moving to PC now. even the mac OS and windows can be interchangeable now if you know what you are doing. so you statement is not correct any more. and are they overpriced... hell yes.

if you are asking a legit question. then personally i will always go with a PC, i dont think i have to explain why i like to use a PC. because its obvious.

but you may have a different opinion so go with what ever you want.

its your money and i dont care how you spend it.

the only reasons you would've gone for a mac are they're good looking, for multimedia work and as a status symbol. personally i find some windows ultrabooks much better looking than macbooks, adobe creative suite runs better on a windows based system than an evenly powerfull mac and sadly they are still a status symbol but i don't care about that.

Mac is too restricted. You simply do not know what is really in your computer, and you barely have the option to keep it up to date yourself (can't do your own upgrades). Apple does this on purpose, because that is really the only way they can make money. Also, Apple computers are EXTREMELY OVERPRICED and for the same amount of money for something like a Macbook Pro, you can buy a kick-ass PC!

AMD FX-8350 Asus M5A-99X R2.0 EVO Corsair Vengeance 8GB DDR3 (9-9-9-24 @1600MHz) - Gigabyte Radeon HD 7970 (OC 1000MHz) - Corsair TX-650

PC now completely destroys macs in editing. They are more optimized now. Much better hardware capabilities!

I've been told by some of their geniuses that everything inside is made by Apple. I've def seen inside a few to say I disagree. lol Btw I heard the new macbook pros have soldered ram, Wonder what else they will lock down.
