My motherboard manual says it supports up to 512MB DIMMs, but a max of 4GB memory. How am i supposed to archieve 4GB with 4 slots of 512MB RAM?

Erm, you buy a new motherboard, and CPU, and RAM, and a whole dam system. Seriously please refresh from a 9 year old system, unless ofc if your fine with just playing Minesweeper.

He could have more than 1 system, dont have to be a prick about it. Not all people can go out and buy a new system. Also OP is only 15 so chances of having a job are slim.

Dude, you need Titans in 4-way SLI to even get Minesweeper playable in 720p on low.

Get better system. At least on i3 if you're bad in financials.

Theoretically it's chipset can support up to 4GB

But if you're still using a system like that, I suggest that you get a new one... Buying new RAM will cost you a lot, so it'll be more cost effective to get a new system altogether.

I need a PC for internet only and mild gaming, as i got the motherboard for 25$ and i can get 4GB of G.Skill ram for another 20$.

The last time I've had 512mb in my system, Pentium 4 was still relevant...

Okay.

get 4 512mb ddr ram sticks. I suggest getting a new system because socket 939 is dead, even you add 4gb of ram, your system won't run fast.

Here is all cheapo, so yeah, why not build a 2005 gaming pc.

I've never heard of a capacity limit per DIMM on a motherboard before

Awsome.

Downloading the other 2GB of RAM, duh.

Okay.

He could have more than 1 system, dont have to be a prick about it. Not all people can go out and buy a new system. Also OP is only 15 so chances of having a job are slim.

And all parts are damn cheap here also !

Dude, you need Titans in 4-way SLI to even get Minesweeper playable in 720p on low.

Ofskroz.

No it wont, since i must pay 300Euros for a i3 here.

Wouldn't getting that ancient of memory be more expensive than even inflated DDR3 prices? I remember DDR2 being laughably expensive, cant imagine DDR being cost effective, either.

cheap, around 15 bucks

The point is, im going to build a expensive PC with a ssd, some fancy gpu card, corsair's cooling and all the blows and whistles , and when its time to upgrade (mb dies) i just replace the motherboard. Everything else is there, PSU, cooling, case etc.

Well what is your parts list atm? We might be able to guide you to a better outcome. But seriously, if your motherboard doesn't support even DDR2 than you may as well get a new one.

Bruh, more like 3 Xeons and 7 R9 295X2s. Even with that you'd be pushing up into the 9001oC range.

I just attempted to launch Minesweeper on my laptop and it exploded.
