It's considered part of the North American continent geographically, but politically it still belongs to Denmark. 

Greenland does have sovereignty over their own terrortory, but can't make decisions on foreign policies.

 

And pot is still illigal in Denmark, so I don't know about the ´pot smoking´ part.

I don't know, Ellesmere island(Canada) is pretty close. Closer than Iceland is anyways. Perhaps the greenlandians don't think to much of the 150 Canadians in that part of Nunavut.

(150 people, or less, on an island twice the size of Portugal... Only in Canada)
