Is it worth waiting for SATA express SSDs or should I just boy 6GB/s SSDs? They seem fast enough though I've heard SATA express will be faster and generally 'better'.

though I'm on a budget and won't buy them if they are as expensive as M.2 SSDs.

I will either use SATA Express SSDs as boot drives or to cache a hard drive.

It will be faster but you'll likely not notice a difference in daily use. Not worth the extra money. The only reason to get a SATA Express/PCIe/M.2 SSD right now is if you don't have another option, like adding an SSD to a laptop with an M.2 slot while also keeping the mechanical hard drive.
