Hello, Let me fill you in with some background info.

The hard drive i'm using right now is about 7-8 years old if i had to guess.

When i first purchased this hard drive, i used it for my dual core rig then i reused and formatted it for my quad core rig i upgraded to.

The hard drive worked fine in the beginning, no problems what so ever in both my rig when i made the switch.

However after all these years, I'm now dealing with this slowness.

My games load slow, programs open slow, pretty much everything is slow, my computer feels useless.

Somebody, told me the problem could be the ram or hard drive in this case.

Yet I tested both and it saids they're fine and workable.

What do you guys think the problem is?, is it time for me to give up on my hard drive.

Thank you for your help!

Get a new drive ASAP mate. I had an old Seagate drive which is ~7 years old, and i have abused that drive over the years. It finally packed up on me 2 days ago, and has all my fap material on it. I need to replace the PCB on it and try to salvage what i can :(

Buy a new hard drive.

You can use Crystal Disk Mark to see the speeds. And get Crystal Disk Info to see how bad the relocated sectors are. This will confirm that it is failing and almost dead.

Replace ASAP

yeah, I'd say its going downhill.  Get yourself a new hard drive and backup quick!

I'd just not load any games, just leave it idle till you backup your stuff. Luckily hard drives are pretty cheap(ish) these days.
