Trying todo an office / possible HTPC build for mom which do you think would be the best deal? SDDs listed in poll are the few that stood out to me.

Of the ones you've listed, I'd say the 840 EVO is the best option, and the V300 is the worst.

Agreed. Kingston V300 is crap as it is right now and the $10 difference between crucial/samsung is insignificant enough to choose the samsung as the best option in this list.

xD budget can't be stretched that extra mile otherwise I would've put that on the list.

xD budget can't be stretched that extra mile otherwise I would've put that on the list.

Shame, that crucial is the best bang for your buck SSD at the moment.

120GB is just too small and not worth any price imo, 240/256 is at least workable for a primary drive.

xD have an HDD too and it's for an office computer  also LOL @ your location

I must say, my 840 pro is AMAZING compared to my old WD black HDD. Granted it's the only SSD I've ever owned, but other than the size+cost limitation, I am 100% satisfied with it.

Ketchup is better than mustard.

GUI is better than Command Line Interface.

Dubs are better than subs
