What CPU generation is in this computer?

Go to solution Solved by Jade,

Some socket 939 chip. Either a Athlon™ 64FX, 64X2, or 64.

Okay, so I'm just looking around my grandparents' computer. It ran XP when they bought it and have never changed it. It has an AsRock motherboard with lettering on the motherboard saying things, like:

"Dual channel DDR400"

"939NF4G-SATA2"

"FSB1GHz"

"Dual Core CPU"

"ATA133"

"SataII"

"USB2.0"

"PCI-Express"

It is an AMD CPU.

It still uses Molex for the Hard Drives and Optical Drives.

On the back I/O it has what looks like a really long VGA connector, which is pink.

Can you help me out with what CPU this is?

Thanks.

Probably Socket 939.

EDIT: And that long pink port was used for some older printers.

Thanks, since it is a Dual-Core (it says on the motherboard and it was written by the pre=built manufacturer) it is the Athlon 64X2.

Thanks for your help!

On the back I/O it has what looks like a really long VGA connector, which is pink.

It's a parallel port, also known as an LPT port. Used to be the main port for printers before the arrival of USB.

My grandparents are "careful" about the computer in weird ways; no downloading stuff, no going into the settings because you might mess something up. Then, I check the back I/O and all their USB cables are bent at a 270 degree angle. It was painful to see.
