Different speed between cpus

Will a 65nm AMD CPU at 2GHz perform better than a 130nm Intel CPU at 2.6GHz?
 

Will the fabrication process counter the lower clock speed, resulting in the processor being faster?

The die size obviously represents the size of the die.The die is pretty much semi-conductive material.

It affects mostly efficiency and temperature.

Palermo AMD Sempron 2800+ - base clock 1.6GHz overclocked to 2.0GHz (FSB) - Socket 754

Northwood Intel Pentium 4 - base clock 2.6GHz no overclock - Socket 478

Athlons are usually better than pentiums

 

Its not a Athlon, its a Sempron.
