Amd fx 6300

Hello everyone,
 

i was planning on buying a amd Fx 6300 and put it with a corsair H100i as the cooler. I was wondering how good is the FX 6300 at overclocking.

 

I have bought a AMD R9 280x and i was wondering would the Fx 6300 be good at gaming with that GPU

If you can buy an AIO cooler like that, then you shouldn't be considering a FX-6300. At least get a FX-8320 or an i5-4690K or i7-4790K.

Buy a fx 8320 and overclock it to 8350 stock speeds and will give a balanced performance. With a 6300 you would have to overclock it to 4.3 or 4.2 ghz with a good motherboard.

Iv already got the Corsair H100i and my budget really only allows me to get a fx6300

8350 isn't that much worth the money over a 6300, but 8320 is. Where I am, an 8320 is just ten bucks more then a 6300

Yeah go with the 8320, great value and decent overclocking.

8320, not much more than the 6300 and very much worth it.

Ok.  The FX6300 Overclocks great as long as you have adequate cooling, which in this case that is a sweet gift from your friend.  You should be able to overclock without any issues.  Just remember to stress test and make changes appropriately.  I had the FX 6300 and it was a decent chip.
