I think Windows messed with audio drivers when you installed the card.

If you go to device manager, do any yellow triangles show up next to any of the devices? Also, did you try uninstalling anything that may have installed with the soundcard?

no yellow triangles and no drivers were installed with the installation of the the soundcard

You've tried restarting your computer already I assume, right? If you have and it still isn't working you may want to try uninstalling the sound drivers in device manager (see if it still squeels while they are uninstalled) and re-download the latest drivers.

done everything bro. i rebuilt the whole computer, uninstalled drivers, restarted, changed ram, plugged in different headphones, plugged into different port, and everything a man can think off. the sound im hearing is the sound of static (very low hissing noise) every time i move my mouse the sound becomes more distorted. its either the motherboard sound chip is bad or the technology god just hates me.

Do you have a graphics card or any other pci cards that could be interfering? Just an idea.

does it have to communicate with like onboard audio chip or something?

I don't think so. Using your front panel audio will still use onboard though, unless you can plug your front panel audio connector into your soundcard. From what I can tell though, most older sound cards don't have the right connection for that.

ive confirmed that that its not a driver issue. Im getting the same thing even after trying my sound on Linux (i had it as a 2nd boot option). i had not touched my 2nd boot for Linux in a while and my sound was working the last time i did. its confirmed that the old sound card that i put in fried my on board sound chip. somehow.... my question will putting in a sound card work with a fried sound chip onboard

onboard isn't in use if you use a sound card or external dac.

Will work for electronic components and parts
