Is this enough room?

So, I might be putting my rig on the floor if it ever gets done (more room on desk for peripherals and homework when school comes around), and there is just under an inch between the bottom of the case and the carpet (like maybe 1/16th of an inch less than an inch). The carpet is fairly low-plush, I guess, and I like to vacuum regularly (allergies). Should this be safe, or will I have to put it in the cabinet next to me with little airflow?

I was in a similar boat with my rig when i put it in the floor. Solved the issue by using 2 large books to prop up the case, off the ground. It doesn't look good, but it's far back under my desk and you can only see if by bending down.

Would putting old optical drives under the feet to prop it up more be okay?

Go to a scrap yard and get some spare sheet metal. You can probably liberate it for free, or a couple of dollars at the most, as you are technically doing the world a favour by recycling waste products.

probably will be okay. Why not, for Lolz, cover the carpet in sellotape. No carpet particles under the PC, nice smooth surface for it to be put on :P
