Looks good, just a few things.

You might want to get a SSD, just a 120GB or 180GB, for the OS and main applications, it's going to be way faster than a normal mechanical hard drive.

You've got a Z97 board and a K processor, so I think that you want to overclock your CPU. You will need an aftermarket cooler for overclocking, the stock heatsink included with Intel CPUs is very small, probably too small even for the CPU at stock speeds.

Something like the Cooler Master Hyper 212 is a great value, performing well and being quite cheap.

You should get something like a Corsair CX600, or a Corsair RM550. An 80+ Bronze 500W PSU is going to be almost to the max, when the whole system is at full usage, especially if you plan to overclock your CPU, GPU, or even both.

Other than that, looks really nice!  :)

Desktop: Intel Core i9-9900K | ASUS Strix Z390-F | G.Skill Trident Z Neo 2x16GB 3200MHz CL14 | EVGA GeForce RTX 2070 SUPER XC Ultra | Corsair RM650x | Fractal Design Define R6

Laptop: 2018 Apple MacBook Pro 13"  --  i5-8259U | 8GB LPDDR3 | 512GB NVMe

Peripherals: Leopold FC660C w/ Topre Silent 45g | Logitech MX Master 3 & Razer Basilisk X HyperSpeed | HIFIMAN HE400se & iFi ZEN DAC | Audio-Technica AT2020USB+

Display: Gigabyte G34WQC

i7 with a GTX770...

swap it for a i5 and GTX780

missing a SSD...

add a 120GB Samsung Evo SSD

16GB RAM is not needed, 8GB is more than enough

MSI Z97 Gaming 5 is good enough, Gaming 7 has extra SATA and USB ports which you don't need

Budget? Uses? Currency? Location? Operating System? Peripherals? Monitor? Use PCPartPicker wherever possible.

For heavy video and photo editing I would have gone with a 780, which it seems that you can afford judging by your other components. And that PSU is just barilly enough. I would have gone for a 600w PSU instead. And a aftermarket cooler is important seing that you appearently plan to OC and since, well, just do it, the noice of a stock CPU cooler is just unbearable to me.

MSI Z97 Gaming 7

i7 4790k

EVGA Superclocked ACX GTX 770

G.Skill Sniper 2x8Gb

Corsair CX500

WD Red 3Tb

NZXT Source 220

Windows 8 64bit

I really don't understand those prices.. $100 for a GTX 770, $70 for Arctic MX4, $190 for an NZXT Source 220?

Oh wait, I see what happened. The price above refers to the product below. That makes more sense.
