Hi to all!!!

I've recently bought an i7 4790k installed it and everything was great, so I started overclocking (i'm using custom watercooling with 360mm rad)

ON STOCK settings my i7 reached 100 degrees in IBT and Prime95 AND Aida64, reseated water block countless times with nt-h1 and mx-4 thermal paste, tried all techniques to apply the paste (line, star, spread, pea sized dot etc..). Still 100 degrees, so I mounted the STOCK Intel heat sink, still 100 degrees

NOTE: idle temp is around 50 degrees ambient is 28 degrees

thanks in advance :)

Maybe a faulty CPU thermometer?

Sounds like it MIGHT be the issue...

That would be my guess. I had the same exact problem with my FM2 board when I got that. It would give either impossibly low temps, or impossibly high ones, used every single hardware monitor program that I could find.

I think they need to start including some form of temperature monitor that's external to the motherboard circuitry, maybe that plugs into the motherboard with a USB cable or something. I fail to see why it's so frigging difficult to get an exact temperature on the cpu.

Well what is his mobo temp? If they are drastically different you're right.

Also is your pump running?

Are the fans spinning?

I would return it for a different one. Could be a faulty reading.
