I got invited but I haven't purchased a pack, not stupid enough to pay for a game that was created from a scam and still has shown very little of what they promise. I learned my lesson with DayZ standalone lol

IMO what they have now is worth the $45 price of entry, or $35 if you were early enough ;) IDK where you get the idea this is a scam either.

Sorry I work hard for my money so a hanger module and a dogfighting module isn't worth $45. And I've been following this game since the actual very beginning where they were going to fly twitch streamers to Japan to demo it on their streams. The guy who was taking all the donations/pledges wasn't actually going to follow through with anything and it was just a big scam. The people he hired to actually work on the game loved the idea of it so much they kept it alive.

Each to their own I suppose, to me $45 is the price of 2 movie tickets and some snacks and I've definitely got more out of it so far then that. I've only been following it for about 1 1/2 years now but I never heard about the twitch thing, was it a CIG thing or some third party? got any links? The only guy who should be taking donations/pledges for the game is Chris Roberts and it really doesn't sound like something he'd do.

Sorry I don't have any links, I think they had them taken down once the IP switched to chris roberts and it became a real thing. Wish I had more info for you, it was a pretty big deal when it happened.

I kind of agree but really the rewards are just marketing, its all stuff they would do anyway its just a showy way of revealing them... TBH it kind of sounds like they really don't want to do them anymore because each time they have to come up with something to reveal on top of what they show in things like wingmans hanger, around the verse, TFTC and other site news but every time they put it to the vote the community votes to keep them going lol.

Are you sure you're thinking of the same game? AFAIK the IP was always Chris Roberts (building on his Wing Commander background), he originally started it as a pitch to game producers but when they turned him down claiming space sims wouldn't sell he put it on kickstarter and things took off from there. You'll have to forgive my scepticism but something like that would be fairly hard to hide on the internet with a game like SC.

Always has been Chris Roberts, him and a bunch of friends was discussing the idea during a game of Risk in the 90s IIRC but the hardware wasn't there at the time, he couldn't call it Wing Commander as he sold the rights for it.

Too each his own... backing it is your choice but really you got to risk it to get the biscuit. Comparing Star Citizen to DayZ though is a little like comparing cheese to a mouldy bowl of milk, same beginnings but one knows how to make cheese and the other doesn't. When people back Star Citizen they are not only backing what has been promised or what they have seen but also the fact that it is being made by a team of people who through their individual careers have proved themselves to actually put out good stuff we are riding on that with the hope that they can pull this off, yes things that might have been promised might not happen but other things that no one has heard of will that will be included that is jut the way of things.

Now I am not downing you for not backing, its a smart move to wait until its all released and then hop in should it match up to what you think it should be. Frankly I am having more than enough fun with it now but that's just me.

I don't know what game you are talking about but it sure as hell isn't Star Citizen. I've been following this from the very beginning and Chris Roberts has always been the man in charge/ deciding how and where the money gets distributed, also there was never any plan for twitch streaming.... So no idea what you are talking about bud.
