I'm building a Gaming computer I have never build a computer my current one I bought for $300 and upgraded the hard Drive, PSU(650W), and GPU(GTX 650). Here is what I got so far, I am limited on my budget,

CPU AMD FX-6300 3.5GHz 6-Core

CPU Cooler Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO 82.9 CFM Sleeve Bearing

Motherboard Gigabyte GA-990FXA-UD3 ATX AM3+

Memory G.Skill Sniper 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3-1600

Video Card EVGA GeForce GTX 760 4GB Superclocked ACX

Power Supply Corsair 750W ATX12V / EPS12V

Operating System Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium SP1 (OEM) (64-bit)

All that comes to around $760 I'm my budget is around $800-$850. I am going to keep my current Hard Drive, I might keep the 650W PSU. But what I'm looking for is a Case within my budget to fit everything. I think it should be noted I do plan on doin more upgrades later like moving from FX-6300 to the FX-8350 and might go SLI with the 760 or just save up a bit to get a 780(Unlikly tho).

Thank for your time.

You should be able to find the NZXT H440 for around 100 on Amazon.

Edit: It went up in price on Amazon, according to PC Part Picker you can get it for 100 on Newegg

Thank for your time.

For a gaming computer, you should go intel, you definitely have the budget.  Don't spend more than you need to on a case, case doesn't impact performance.

Here is a MUCH better build that will allow you to upgrade in the future without having to worry about games not working properly or bottlenecks, which would occur with an FX processor:

PCPartPicker part list: http://pcpartpicker.com/p/3BzzhM

Price breakdown by merchant: http://pcpartpicker.com/p/3BzzhM/by_merchant/

CPU: Intel Core i5-4690K 3.5GHz Quad-Core Processor  ($199.99 @ Micro Center) <-- If you don't live near a Microcenter, you can price match with NCIX.com, Staples.com or Frys.com.

CPU Cooler: Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO 82.9 CFM Sleeve Bearing CPU Cooler  ($24.99 @ Newegg)

Motherboard: MSI Z97-G55 SLI ATX LGA1150 Motherboard  ($98.99 @ Newegg)

Total: $747.23

EDIT, Forgot to add an HDD. +$50.  Still comes in at $800

If you can, keep your current PSU, unless if it is really old and going bad.  If you need a new copy of Windows, go to this LINK and buy a copy.  Read the instructions on how to properly download and install it.

Thank you finally someone that understands that the h440 has crappy airflow due to the noise dampening. Same with the r4 everyone thinks is so damn great.

This isn't true games work good on both amd and Intel platforms neither one is better then the other. And you are very mistaken if you think that a 128 gig ssd would be good for gaming or a cx psu is a good power supply. I would go with a cheap xfx or seasonic one and a 1 terabyte seagate hard drive until you can afford an ssd at which point I would transfer it over via a cable.

If you've previously won the build off please pm me so we can get something worked out.

Try playing an MMO on an FX processor, or upgrading to a better GPU, or running multiple GPUs.

120GB is perfectly fine for gaming, it is enough for your OS, some necessary programs, and one or two games that you frequently play. I did forget to add an HDD, that is +$50, still comes in at a total of $800 which is his budget.  CX is a good PSU considering its price, and it makes it work for his budget.  He can always use the CX PSU for 2-3 years, and then upgrade if he wants, but for the money, there is not a better PSU available.

I did just check, and there is a Rosewill 550W HIVE for $35, that is a very good PSU option.

amd cpus fail in heavy single threaded games, such as older games/ mmos. they just dont have enough IPC, everything else it's still decent for the money.

I use a 120 evo, i don't even have stuff on it , just OS. only games that have many loading screens would utilize the ssd's speed over the hdd.

the cx series is a budget psu and op is making a budget build. so why not.

I've used fx processor in all my computers I've had in the past and played games back to 1996 and they've all worked fine. I am honestly not bias between the two and know Intel excels better at single core however the reality is most modern games run at a quad core level in which is a multi core utilisation of the fx processor. And in multicored programs I believe the fx wins. On things like video encoding and daily tasks the Intel is better. But it's not my build or your build so the op has the power to choose what he or she wants. I think for a budget pc like this a amd is a good idea since its cheaper and will still get the job done for the op.

working fine does not equate to good.

what i mean is that the fx cpus will struggle as compare to intel's cpus, games like wow needs all the single core performance you can get.

have you compared running an fx cpu vs an intel i5 on the same game? you'd probably notice a difference if your gpu is not the bottleneck.

we're going offtopic,

OP, you can get a h440 or r4.

in a single gpu config, the H440 won't struggle for air at all with proper fan placements.

Thank you finally someone that understands that the h440 has crappy airflow due to the noise dampening. Same with the r4 everyone thinks is so damn great.

Yeah xD IT HAS 1 FAN slot thats not choked... and physics dictates for airflow it has togo some where you can't turn a case into a vacuum nor can you just exhaust air when there's no airflow >.< w/ the R4 depends on the version; Windowed version is shit crappy airflow and crappy silence b/c everyone who wants a silent case with a window KNOW 1 THING and 1 THING ONLY KNOW THIS WINDOWS ARE NOT SOUND PROOFING AT ALL THEY ARE DETRIMENTAL >.< and the normal R4 at least allows you to remove some foam to add extra fans and it doesn't just take off 3/4s a side panel's worth of foam too add a window there by greatly greatly increasing noise by not only removing silencing foam but by adding a detrimental window which doesn't even contribute too cooling!!!!!!!!

Something else is don't suggest a H440, or R4 to someone with out good reason; specially if its someones first build so what if it's aesthetic or easy to build in? Corsair has the obsidian and graphite line ups for that, CoolerMaster has multiple cases for that just anything but the H440 or R4 the craptacular build can be a pain for first timers who wouldn't be able to know what's causing the issues and not everyones gonna watercool specially not the kind of custom waterloops the H440 was made for >.<
